AWS Solution Architect — Associate

After my first successful certification exam, I mean Amazon Cloud Practitioner, I was thinking about my next exam. Since I thought I am not quite ready on the highest level and of course no specialisation, my focus was on the associate level. After reading a few articles and recommendations from many people I decided to focus on AWS Solution Architect Associate, which is according to many users, the general point to the associate level. I tell you the truth because I have already passed all of the certifications on this level, people are right.

I decided to use the course, which I found on udemy and which was created by Stephane Maarek. I have already bought a course created by Stephane so I knew what I can expect. Even though Stephane is not a native speaker his English is really good. The way how Stephane explains particular services and shows how to connect to them and what they are used for are good enough for users to understand the subject being taught and recognize the usage goal. At this time the course is 24 long which is a quite long course, but it will serve as starting point to understand all the services. I do not tell this course is enough to pass the exam because it is not. If I should describe my feeling in percentage value about the preparation for the exam, it is around 50 to 60 percent.

Another 40 to 50 percent are needed to be ready for the exam. I decided to not underestimate my preparation for the exam and I bought 3 additional courses which contain the sets of questions. The first course was created by Jon Bonso, the second one was created by Stephane Maarek and the third one was created by Neal Davis. Honestly, the question was similar in these three courses, however, the logical division was the best in Neal Davis’s course. All the questions are divided into logic units which leads to easily figure out, in which areas you should get better, the study provided materials, and take your notes. In my opinion, the Neals course is enough to improve your skill, by what I don’t want to say that the remaining courses are not great.

In my opinion, any person will never be ready for the certification exam and I had the same idea before my Amazon Architect Associate exam. I decided to take advice from my friends which already passed all the 12 exams (quite crazy) with the help of the page skillcertpro(https://skillcertpro.com/). I bought the course and I saw that the specific course contains 1000 questions which represented 13 practical tests. Since I scheduled my exam for the next one and a half of the week, I had to work on these tests quite hard. Each day I had to go through 2 tests and made some notes. I won’t lie I reached around 85 percent in the first 6 tests, but at the end of the last 4 tests, it was at the edge of 94 percent. I did no go through the tests a second time because I had considered my notes are sufficient to fulfill the information, which I did not know before these 13 tests.

If you already passed any Amazon certification do not forget to apply a 50 percent discount to another exam. You can find the coupon in the section benefits. My test went well but I have been nervous if I marked all my answers and if the answers are correct. After reviewing all my questions I found out I did not mark 5 answers and I marked only one answer in 4 questions which should have 2 correct answers. It’s inattention but it could mean I would have 9 questions incorrect which is a quite big number. I do not know why but during the test my application just refreshed. Do not panic if this situation happens to you. All the questions are saved, and my proctor took them very friendly. After finishing my test and sending it away, I answered 10 required questions and I saw the word PASS. At the end of the day, I received the email with the link which redirected me to the result where I saw the score of 921. During my test, I saw 4 questions with services I did not see before and it could lead to an incorrect answer. I think that with the help of the provided resources any smart-thinking person can easily pass the exam without any problems.

I root for all the future participants of the exams and I wish you good luck. Peace
